According to Danish law, embryos can be stored until the woman becomes 46 years old.
Both partners (male or female) must sign an informed consent that the embryos may be transferred into the uterus. In case one of the partners dies, we cannot transfer the embryos anymore. However, the male partner can write an informed consent that the female partner is allowed to have the embryos transferred after his death. In case the woman dies, we are not allowed to transfer her eggs into the womb of another woman.
